Torbay MP, Kevin Foster, played the role of Father Christmas as he presented the latest cheques from his “Foster’s Fund” to local charities, giving their great work a real Christmas Bonus.

Given the case of three-year-old Sam Morrish, who died at Torbay hospital in 2010, and the conclusions of the Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman that many investigations into avoidable deaths were not fit for purpose, I welcome the statement.

The future of Paignton Hospital

Local MP Kevin Foster raised the future of Paignton Hospital in the Chamber of the House of Commons recently. He asked the Minister of State for Health, Philip Dunne MP, to consider the provision of services in Paignton regardless of the site and building that is eventually decided upon.
