Local MP Kevin Foster is leading a campaign for changes in the law that governs the enforcement methods used by privately owned car parks.
His campaign follows residents contacting him about enforcement practices relating to local car parks that are managed by private companies. The issues raised included fines for not paying when a letter did not work on the relevant keypad, poor lighting and difficult to read small print on signs.
Kevin recently secured a debate in parliament where he highlighted the flaws in the system that allows access to car owner’s details held by the DVLA. He wants a system that is fairer for motorists with a single body setting the rules to weed out rouge operators.
